Robot week with Hedgehog class
Lesson: Information and communication technology
Class: Hedgehog Year: 2017 - 2018
Last week we had robot week. We began the week with an exciting assembly learning about what was happening during the week. On Wednesday we then had High impact come into class to teach us about programming and coding. We rotated around 4 activities
1) Osmo and osmo shapes - we had to match the shape shown on the ipad. The ipad cleverly viewed whether the shape we made was correct and only changed when we managed that level.
2) We played a castle coding board game with Mrs Pike. We had to move our creature to get to the jewel, but what we thought was a easy game, ended up being tricky as others players kept geting in the way. It was so fun!
3) On the ipad we used a coding app and had to make the person move, adding new directions.
4 ) Lastly on the carpet we used the bluebots and moved them independently around the mat using the ipad to programme the directions.
The children learnt alot from our week and cant wait for the next one!
